The Swan Inn building has been dated back to 1688.  Originally two terraced cottages, it has been transformed over the years.  It is a Grade II listed building built in brick and Mountsorrel granite, and the rear wing still shows the original timber frame.

In the late 1800's it was known as the Nags Head and the top picture shows everyone dressed for their annual holiday to Nottingham in 1899.
